New office in record time: TRAX moves to Kálvin Square Office Building

Trax, an artificial intelligence and data science company, moved from its old office to the new one in record time, choosing the centrally located Kálvin Square Office Building. Trax asked MádiLáncos Studio to design the interior of the new office, while Fitout Zrt. was responsible for the high quality interior fit-out.

The Kálvin Square building developed by Convergence is particularly important in the life of MádiLáncos Studio, as the office building, which was renewed in 2016, has been the home of their previous interior design projects, such as the Philip Morris office or the pilot branch of OTP Bank. The choice of Trax was not a coincidence: they were looking for an office building with efficient workspace and fresh design that could become their new Budapest headquarters and a characteristic meeting place - just like their parent company, which is located in the famous ToHa office building in Tel Aviv, designed by Ron Arad.

The 1,100-square-metre building offers a unique view of Kálvin Square from different spots. The glass-roofed open office area offers both above-average ceiling height and sunlight thanks to the elevated floor plan. The building has two wings, connected by a bridge in the middle: here you can find the meeting rooms with an extraordinary panoramic view of the city through the glass walls of the two rooms. The office space offers 72 workstations, three closed offices and three focus rooms, with a choice of different working modes: the office is based on a shared desk concept, but colleagues can also work in the work café and lounge zone. Four larger and four smaller meeting rooms facilitate working in the office, the largest of which, with 26 seats, can be further divided by a mobile wall. When optimizing the organization of the space, the owners also considered the possibilities for development, so the current collaboration spaces can be converted into an open office space, for which the designers provided the necessary technical conditions during the remodeling.

The effective office transformation was preceded by an intensive planning process and stringent financial planning with the help of the company’s Tel Aviv headquarters and the

Hungarian management. It took only 5 weeks to prepare the design and the concept. The project was built with sustainability in mind, making the best use of existing elements with minimal demolition work. The glass walls in the office area were all used in the design of the new concept. Lighting is provided by LED strip lights, designer lights can only be found in the three larger meeting rooms and the kitchen. The previous kitchen furniture has been kept and updated with new graphics. In addition to the existing toilets, the office has been equipped with a accessible toilet and a baby changing station. The family-friendly company has also created a playroom for their colleagues with young children, who can now spend a day working from an office environment, but still close to their children.

The collaboration space has become a multi-functional area, full of possibilities and with countless rearrangements. In addition to armchairs, sofas and swings, there is also a special

built-in podium where employees can work during the day and enjoy the company’s popular cinema nights in the evening. In one of the kitchens, staff can choose from a selection of video games and board games if they decide to stay late.

The development, which was completed in record time, was the result of strong teamwork and coordinated planning and execution, based on the interior design of MádiLáncos Studio.
